Julie Cohen and Betsy West, directors of the Academy Award winning RBG documentary, were tasked with creating a short documentary film introducing Jill Biden that would play before she spoke at the 2020 Democratic Convention. They needed to add visual interest and motion to the collection of still images that they wanted to include in the film.
Steve used Photoshop to create a series of images that made the still photos appear as though they were mounted in a scrapbook. Using After Effects, he then created the moving image sequences that the editors could then incorporate into the film. Not all still images were given the "scrapbook treatment," and Steve applied smooth movement to all of those stills as well.
Jill Biden is now the 46th First Lady of the United States.
